Test results

The doctors check all results, many of which are received electronically and, in general, you will be contacted directly in writing or by telephone if a result requires urgent attention.

Some results just require routine follow-up so you may also be advised in writing if this is the case. As a safeguard, we would advise you to check the result of any test that you have had done to make sure that it is normal and that no action is required.

Please remember that the reception staff are not trained to interpret results so if you are worried or need an explanation about a result please ask to discuss it with your doctor.

Please note that your doctor may not have access to the results of tests ordered by a hospital doctor.
